Growing a garden

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We will be growing our very own garden to be shared with the entire school community.  We will be planting our own garden next week in science.  Your students have learned thus far, the necessary components that are required to grow a garden.

We will be wrapping up our lessons on Friday and begin to design the layout and necessary components on Monday.  Students will be working in groups of their table mates in order to design and carry out what they have learned, in growing the school garden.

Any parents or guardians that have experience in gardening or not, are more then welcome to come Tuesday to be apart of our classroom application.

All gardening materials and supplies will be available for use on Tuesday, need only bring gardening clothes that you would not mind getting dirty.

Your job would be to be stationed with one group, and assist in the learning process and application  and gather any supplies that they may need.  You will be moving from group to group, depending on how many volunteers that we will have that day.

Our team really appreciates all of the hard work both you and your students have done thus far! Please email me your confirmation if you are planning on attending.   Thank you so much and we look forward to hearing from you soon!

Best,
Ms. Pequeno

Greetings Parents and Guardians of Team Rambler!

This blog will used often through the course of this unit, both inside and outside of the classroom.  The 6th grade team have developed several print and non-print resources for students to track their healthy choices.
It is our hope that students would be able make life long, healthy lifestyle choices.

Students will be learning so many new tools that they can share them at home with you! During the middle of our month long unit, we will host a "Living Healthy Night" for parents and guardians to come to school and experience for themselves, what your students have.  It will be a night where staff and students will share the responsibility of cooking a healthy meal and will be served for parents and guardians.  We will be providing more activities and resources that can be used at home in order to create support for your students.

We are tentatively planing for November 15 at 7 pm. in the auditorium, and we will both send a letter home, as well as update our blog when a definite date becomes available.  We look forward to working with your students on this unit, we hope that you are too!

Warmest Wishes,

Team Ramber
